Instructions
on how to join the ChasOC email community –
Hi, this is Rich Hopkins inviting you
to join the ChasOC (Charleston Area Ornish
Connection) email group. You don't have to attend self-directed on
Thursdays to belong to this virtual group. This virtual group provides an
additional way to stay connected even though you can't come in person.
The
In email, you will be able to talk to your
Ornish friends as easily as talking in group. Every email message you
send can go to all group members so you are heard by all, just as if you were
speaking in the group circle. And, of course, each can reply to you and
all will see the same reply. We're ALL connected!!! Won't Caroline
be so proud of us! And don't forget, it is totally confidential, just
like group.
On the Calendar,
you can keep track of all ChasOC events so that you
don't miss anything. It will even send reminders to your email so
you don't forget anything.
On the Polls,
you can let your voice be heard about issues facing the ChasOC.
At any given time the issue might be different, so visit frequently to insure
your opinion is expressed. It is totally anonymous.

We have links to other Ornish
websites, including the all new Charleston Area Ornish Connection Website.
We are really excited about providing an extremely versatile way for all of us
to stay very well informed on all the Ornish principles and the latest news
about Diet, Stress Management, Group, and Exercise. One highlight of the
website will be a complete Recipes Directory
where you can find that recipe you want to
prepare. There is also a membership directory so that you can contact
other members individually as you may wish.
You can see that there is a lot
happening in the Self-Directed Community of the Charleston Ornish
Connection. Join this group so you can stay CONNECTED and informed.
Here are
instructions to enter Yahoo Groups and join ChasOC
1. Open your browser.
2. In the address box near the top of
the screen, erase the existing address then type: www.yahoo.com - then press
<ENTER>
3. On the Yahoo screen, In the light blue box just a few inches below the address
box, you will see a list of Yahoo services.
4. Find "Groups" in the
left hand column, and click on it.
5. Yahoo Groups screen will
appear. A few inches down on the left you will see a search box labeled
"Find a Group".
6. In the
search box type "ChasOC". Click on
the SEARCH button.
7. The next screen will show the
results of your search - ChasOC is listed.
8. Click on the word "ChasOC".
9. The ChasOC
screen appears. On this screen you can read messages but that is all
until you signon or Join the Group.
10. Click on the button "Join
this Group!"
11. If you haven't already, signon to Yahoo.
12. Then follow the instruction to
join the group.
13. Once you are a member of the
group, you will have access to all the services listed on the left frame in the
light blue box. Click on those to select which service you wish to
see. For example -- to see the Calendar for ChasOC,
click on the word Calendar. The ChasOC calendar
will be displayed and you browse to see all events planned for ChasOC.
