Instructions on how to join the ChasOC email community –

 

 

The SDC membership would like to invite you to join the ChasOC (Charleston Area Ornish Connection) email group. Obviously, the best way to continue the benefits of the Ornish Program is to attend the SDC meetings, but you don't have to attend self-directed on Thursdays to belong to this virtual group.  This virtual group provides an additional way to stay connected even though you can't come in person.

 

ChasOC - has provided an additional means to make connecting to like-minded Ornish Lifestyle folks as easy as opening your email box. 

In ChasOC email, you will be able to talk to your Ornish friends as easily as talking in group.  Every email message you send goes to all group members so everyone hears you, just as if you were speaking in the group circle.  And, of course, each can reply to you and all will see the same reply.  We're ALL connected!!!  And don't forget, it is totally confidential, just like group.
 
On the Calendar, you can keep track of all ChasOC events so that you don't miss anything.  It will even send reminders to your email so you don't forget anything.

There is also a Membership Directory so that you can contact other members individually as you may wish. This directory is found under the word "Database" in the left frame.

 Want to join? Here are instructions to enter Yahoo Groups and join ChasOC

 

1. Open your browser.

2. In the address box near the top of the screen, erase the existing address then type: www.yahoo.com - then press <ENTER>

3. On the Yahoo screen, at the very bottom of the page on the left hand side.

4. Find "Groups" in the left hand column, and click on it.

5. Yahoo Groups screen will appear.  A few inches down on the left you will see a search box labeled "Find a Yahoo! Group".

6. In the search box type "ChasOC".  Click on the SEARCH button.

7. The next screen will show the results of your search - ChasOC is listed.

8. Click on the word "ChasOC".

9. The ChasOC screen appears.  On this screen you can read messages but that is all until you signon or Join the Group.

10. Click on the button "Join this Group!"

11. If you haven't already signed onto Yahoo as a user, do so now.  

12. Then follow the instructions on the screen to join the group.

13. Once you are a member of the group, you will have access to all the services listed on the left frame in the light blue box.  Click on those to select which service you wish to see.  For example -- to see the Calendar for ChasOC, click on the word Calendar.  The ChasOC calendar will be displayed and you browse to see all events planned for ChasOC.
